PLANET ASIA

This joint right here brings back lots of memories. Always gonna be a classic!

FRIDAY NIGHT WAS 80'S NIGHT!

I can safely say that last night was the best Friday i've had since I started working at Jimmy Love's. After last night's turnout I know summertime is just around the corner.

BLACK EYED PEAS AT IT'S FINEST!

I remember listening to Black Eyed Pea's for the first time back in the late 90's. This was way before Fergie got up in the mix and got ish all Jig nasty. The albums "Behind The Front" and "Bridging The Gap" were where they were at their best. This was when they were more "Hip-Hop." but that's just my opinion. I honestly, stopped listening TO BEP after they released their "Elephunk" Album.

These are my top 3 favorite tracks:

(The quality is horible on this one, but this was all I could find.)

DJ FRED SAVAGE FEATURED ON SAN DIEGO CITY BEAT!!

So as I mentioned in my last post, that I had recently just got interviewed by City Beat and that I was gonna have a little section in the one of the upcoming issues with a review. So today, I decided to hit up Lolita's one more time for my normal Cali Burrito, and as I was walking towards the door I saw a new batch of City Beat Mags. So I pick one up and as I was waiting in the long line I was flipping through pages to see what was new in SD.

After flipping and flipping I came across this page where the Headline said "Sweet Beats," and then under that I see my name and a pic! There's nothing better than picking up your favorite Mexican food and seeing yourself featured on City Beat. I was really surprised on how fast it was posted up because I just got interviewed yesterday!! Also, I didn't think it was gonna be a full profile. Big up to City Beat!! Find your nearest City Beat stand and pick your issue up today. I'm on Page 47. Holla!

ONE OF MY FAVORITE ARTISTS!

Mos Def has always been one of my favorite hip-hop artists. His sound is like no other. The man is a genius! He's also one of my favorite artist as an actor. Can't wait to see "Next Day Air!!

"M O S D E F peace. i was born in brooklyn new york in 1973. ive been working professionally as an artist for nearly 20 years. ive been very blessed to work with some of the worlds brightest talents and many of my personal heroes.thus far ive been nominated for 2 grammys, a golden globe, an emmy, and a source award among others. i was awarded a peabody award for my work on the hbo series "def poetry" and won an obie award for the suzan lori parks play "fucking A".

i was on broadway in another suzan lori play "topdog underdog" w/ my man jeffrey wright and directed by my other man george C. "big daddy" wolfe in 2002. the play won the pulitzer prize that year. we performed it in london the following year. im proud to have been apart of it. ive done work in film and television as well w/ folks like bill cosby and the late great nell carter to name a few.

like i said ive been blessed and im grateful. mashaallah. i just wanna say i appreciate all the love and good vibrations that folks have been sendin my way thru the years on this particular journey and im wishin you all peace love and power in your own journey as well. the elders say "love em all, trust a few,and fear none"....thats wassup. one love. peace."

When I went to look for the CLASSIC joint, "Ms. Fat Booty" on you tube, I was really shocked that the original video wasn't on there! Some random guy had to go ahead and put an un-official one up himself. Big up to that guy for doing it!! (It's not the best quality, but it's still a banger!!"

UPDATES, UPDATES, & UPDATES!

Ok, I know it's been a hot one since i last blogged. There's just been so much going on in my life right now. So going back to this past weekend. Like I mentioned before gaslamp has been picking up a little over the past few weekends. I spun at Jimmy Love's as usual on Friday, and that was another packed night in a while! Boss man was happy AGAIN!

On Saturday I had Social Saturdays @ Altitude with more special guests than anticipated. hahha, all good thought. All my DJ's killed it that night! BIG UP to JABA one, Ronchee Boomba, and Frank Fresh for holding it down! While 3/4 of the Beat Bros. were at Altitude Frantik was at SNL @ Jimmy Love's getting ish cracks!

Funny thing about that night was all the people I expected did NOT show up, and the people I didn't expect at all showed up! Weird. But none the less that was for sure the best night I've had since I started spinning there!

I recently just got interview by City Beat for my New Beginnings Mixtape, so I should have a profile as well as a review by them on one of the upcoming issues, so be on the look out. I will post up which one it is once I get a hold of the official one!

Here's few pics of the night. Still trying to get a new camera!
